
Bryan Levell continued his career-best season with an impressive performance to win his heat on Thursday’s first day of the 2025 JAAA/Puma National Senior and Junior Championships at the National Stadium in Kingston.
Running in the fourth and final heat, Levell produced 9.99, the only sub-10 time of the heats, to win ahead of Sandrey Davison (10.12) and Tyquendo Tracey (10.15).
Odaine McPherson (10.15), Yohan Blake (10.24) and Ashanie Smith (10.27) also advanced from heat four as non-automatic qualifiers.
The third heat saw Olympic silver medallist and defending national champion Kishane Thompson cruise to 10.12 for victory ahead of 2023 national champion Rohan Watson (10.28) and Christopher Taylor (10.36).
World and Olympic finalist Oblique Seville took the second heat in the same time Thompson did in the third. Jehlani Gordon (10.28) and Ryiem Forde (10.29) also advanced from that heat.
Ackeem Blake was second-fastest in the heats with his 10.07 to win the first ahead of national Under-20 record holder Bouwahjgie Nkrumie (10.14) and Kadrian Goldson (10.20) while Andre Bent (10.21) also made it through from that heat.
