Shanieka Ricketts’ dominance at the JAAA/Puma National Senior and Junior Championships continued on Saturday as she claimed her seventh national title in the triple jump.
Ricketts, who has claimed silver medals at both the World Championships and Olympic Games, produced 14.21m in her opening round effort before fouls in rounds two, three and four.
Her best and winning jump, 14.52m, came in round five while she closed out her series with 14.31m in round six.
Early leader Ackelia Smith claimed second thanks to her 14.44m in round one to add to her victory in the long jump on Thursday’s first day while seven-time national champion Kimberly Williams was third with 13.80m.
